The 2023 Golden Globe Awards will be hosted by comedian Jerrod Carmichael in the show’s return to TV, organizers announced Thursday.
“We’re so excited to have Jerrod Carmichael host the historic 80th Golden Globe Awards,” Helen Hoehne, head of the HFPA, said Thursday.

The HFPA, which produces the Golden Globes, came under scrutiny for its longtime lack of diversity, with The Los Angeles Times reporting the organization didn’t have a single Black member.
