Police officers shot and critically wounded a man during a gunfight in the woods near Yankee Stadium in the Bronx late Saturday night, cops said.
The confrontation unfolded at about 11:45 p.m., when officers in the 30th Precinct responded to a 911 call reporting a car break-in near W. 149th St. and Amsterdam Ave., according to NYPD officials.
While they responded to that call, the officers spotted another vehicle driving recklessly, NYPD Chief of Patrol John Chell told reporters early Sunday.
A man was taken to the Hospital after he was shot by NYPD Officers during a wild running gun battle that started as a vehicle pursuit in upper Manhattan and ended when the Suspects crashed the blue Hyundai Elantra sedan they were driving into a parked Honda Pilot SUV at Ogden Avenue and West 161st Street in the Bronx on Sunday December 4, 2022. 0727.
