Closed NYC streets open up holiday joy around Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree

• A stretch of Fifth Ave. was teeming with tourists instead of cars on Sunday as crowds took advantage of newly closed streets to get a view of the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree.
• Jackie Davis of Seattle described the atmosphere from 48th to 57th Sts.
• Everybody is in a good mood even though there’s tons of people all around,” said the 53-year-old.
• The lack of vehicular traffic was a relief to her daughter Jessie Davis, a 19-year-old student at Baruch College.
